Bucks CC FC  won the ADL Reserve Cup in very blistery wet and windy conditions at Tring on Monday Evening.

In doing so revenge was gained for a narrow defeat in the final last year by Long Marston FC.
These teams were evenly matched last year this year was no different and the weather made it difficult to play decent football but it eas the resiliant defending that made the difference on the night.

Bucks CC took an early lead through James Baxter the evergreen plater manager who latched on to a long through ball and calmly turned the defender and goalkeeper innside out begore rolling the nall into the net for the team’s 100th goal in all competitions this year.

The Long Marston keeper made three great saves in the first half from Baxter, Jon Miller and Ben Floyd as Andy Wright and Ryan Hamilton began to create chances from the right,  and the score remained 1 : 0 at the interval.

The second half saw Long Marston get back into the match but Bucks CC stood firm and defended their lead with a solid performance from Jamie Coats in front of a strong back four of Durelle Palmer, Michael Harris, Lee Benton and Tim Miller held firm and in the 700th minute a fantastic one hannded save from the agile Jay Charlton kept the lead for Bucks CC FC.

Legs began to tire on a heavy pitchand the wily Wayne Martinig made three changes and used his vast knowledge to hold and counter the opposition as he introduced Barney Hogg, Mark Swierzynski and Ekeke Donatus from the bench.

A close game and a competitive final but Bucks CC FC held firm to win the final - securing promotion and another semi-final on next week show how Baxter has fine tuned and this experienced and talented group of players.
